I just found out that the Mozilla Calendar project has released a new version for both, their standalone client and their thunderbird plugin. Until now I have used the standalone client, but a friend showed me how usefull a combined mail and task/event management can be. So I switched to the Lightning plugin.

In case you are looking for a decent task/event/calender tool for windows/unix I can suggest you to give Lightning a try .
